AIA|DC – EAC’s Mentoring Workshops bring together Emerging Professionals (early career designers and newly licensed architects) on a monthly basis to discuss topics relating to you, the practitioner. This year’s theme is “Professional and Business-minded Growth” in which we will focus on the individual, helping to gain skills such as networking, revamping your LinkedIn page, and other topics related to starting one’s own firm. Each month will cover a different topic within our theme, with plenty of time for Q+A after each session. New interns, architects, and mentors are always welcome!

Each session is held on the last Tuesday of the month, from 6—8pm at the District Architecture Center. Topics to be covered:

  • March 31 – Networking How-to’s
  • April 28 – LinkedIn & You
  • May 26 – Negotiation for Architects
  • June 30 – Lobbying for Architects
  • July 14 – Revit Tips from the Pros – POSTPONED – new date TDB
  • August 25 – Starting Your Firm, Part I: Intellectual Property
  • September 30 – Starting Your Firm, Part II: Finances + Liabilities
  • October 27 – Starting Your Firm, Part III: Marketing for Architects

To wrap up the series, there will be a networking event with our joint associations on December 8, 2015 – stay tuned!
