We asked Leo a few questions to get the conversation started prior to the event.

AIA|DC|EAC: What do you think are the three most significant issues and opportunities facing the profession today?

Leo Marmol:

  1. The assault of technology and the speed of information.
  2. The coming of age of our Modern architectural history and the expanding need for efficiency.
  3. The ever-widening social gap between design and the design-nots.

AIA|DC|EAC: What advice do you have for young architects?

Leo Marmol: We value young architects who are creative, collaborative, communicative, and confident.

To kick off the 7th Annual Architecture Uncensored lecture series, AIA|DC’s Emerging Architects Committee invites you to a networking social and keynote lecture with Los Angeles-based architect Leo Marmol, FAIA. Marmol is a co-founding principal of the firm Marmol Radziner, whose innovative design-build practice includes architecture, construction, landscape, interiors, furniture, and a jewelry line.
