At AIA|DC’s Emerging Architects Committee, we’re eager to welcome new members through our Outreach programs and through other events we hold through the year.

Annual Thesis Showcase
Every summer a small group of recent architecture graduates presents their thesis projects to members of the AIA and the public. Each presenter speaks for 10 minutes, after which an emcee moderates questions from the audience and helps to draw connections between the thesis projects. This program aims to bridge the gap between recent graduates and practicing architects by providing an opportunity for practitioners to view a sample of the work emerging from local architecture schools.

Meet the Fellows
Every fall all newly elevated AIA Fellows from the DC, NOVA, and Potomac Valley Chapters are invited to present a 5 minute rapid fire talk on their career paths, how their choices as young architects affected their journeys toward Fellowship, and what they know now that they wish they knew before. This program is designed to engage local students, professionals at all levels, and AIA Fellows in conversations about the practice and advancing the profession.
